Physitron's staff specializes in providing support for system engineering
and system survivability/operability under stressing nuclear effects.
Included are survivability requirements and specification definition;
vulnerability and hardening analysis and testing; testing and qualification
of electronics; development, testing, and direction of programs for
hardened optics and electro-optical materials, components, and subsystems;
and traditional core engineering functions such as program planning,
structural mechanics, and software data visualization. Physitron personnel
have hardening experience for a large number of strategic and tactical
systems including THAAD, GBR, MEADS, Patriot, HELLFIRE, MILSTAR, GPS,
B-1, B-2, armored personnel carriers, tanks, and other tactical military
systems. Hardening experience spans system concept through deployment
with experiment conception, test chamber/fixture design, component response
and test predictions, test monitoring, analysis and correlation of test
data, and assessment of system impacts.
